Music Fundraising Idea
Use those broken Violins

A local music school Berkshire Music School came up with a great idea to recycle the violins that had been sitting in their basement for years.

Artists were enlisted to paint the violins to reflect the individual style of each artist. Some of the violins were decorated in felt, buttonspaint, mosaics. The artist Andrew DeVries added a sculpture to his violin. They all are beautiful in their own way and it is a great idea for a fundraiser. They will be auctioned off on June 29 at the exclusive Stoneover Farm in Lenox, MA on June 29th.

Any school or individual could use this idea to raise money as a fundraiser. Enlisting local artists, craftspeople, even local stores to decorate and then auction them off when you have your gala or put the finished creative object on your website.

I can see decorated toe shoes, musical instuments, framed musical scores, bits of costumes that have been redone. The list is endless.

Try it out!
