Tango, Merengue, Latin and a host of other Ballroom Dances can add alot to your summer studio plans. Check out Pierre Dulaine, the founder of Manhattan's American Ballroom Theatre for inspiration. Sometimes you can find him leading dance classes at Lincoln Center Plaza. Admission is $5 per person, kids are free. His work with schoolchildren inspired the movie, "Mad Hot Ballroom". I saw that movie and it was great!

Another great area to expand your business is into Kids Theatre. The Chicago Children's Theatre, which is now in its second season, stages professional productions for children and teens. They are attracting top-notch directors, playwrights and actors to produce the productions which can bring in big bucks and reach hundreds of children each year.Another children's theare company is Childsplay in Tempe, Arizona. It is run by David Saar. Childsplay must be doing something right because they are about to move into a new $67 million performing arts center. A far cry from its humble roots in 1977 performing in a school cafeteria.
Why the sudden interest in children? Parents are worried about their children sitting in front of TV's and computers and want to expose them to live theatre. You can look at their websites for ideas to help your ideas come to life.
