We all know someone who has had breast cancer. The Breast Form Fund was founded in 1994 to provide financial assistance to uninsured or underinsured women in Massachusetts who need breast prostheses and mastectomy bras after breast cancer surgery and when needed for years to come.
The major fundraiser for The Breast Form Fund is its inspired and exuberant biennial event called Show Us Your BRA! This years event, like past events, is comprised of three parts: a contest, an auction, and a calendar.
The Contest
Are you looking for a way to get your creative juices flowing and support a worthy cause? We are currently looking for Bratistes to strut their artistic and innovative stuff. You are invited to make or embellish a three-dimensional, not necessarily functional bramade from nonperishable materials like fabric, clay, beads, found objects or anything else that inspires you. It can be either human-sized or miniature and prizes will be awarded to top bra creations in both categories. You may submit up to two creations.
The deadline for submissions is September 23, 2007!

The Auction & Gala
If you are an art enthusiast and would like to add to your collection of original and innovative works of art and would like to support a worthy cause please circle Saturday, October 13, 2007 on your calendar. We invite you to celebrate the hard work of our Bratistes and sponsors with a gala affair and auction at the Northampton Center for the Arts. With delicious fare by Whole Foods Market, an open bar provided by State Street Wines and Spirits and an upbeat musical ambience the evening is sure to be spirited and fun loving. The fun really begins when we unveil the winners of the contest and auction all of the bra creations. Most bras will be in the silent auction, but for a selected few of the prize-winning bras, Mr. George Thomas Lewis, of George Thomas Lewis & Company, will preside over an exciting live auction. New to this years event, attendees of the auction will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite bra. The recipients of the most votes receive the Peoples Choice Award and a highly coveted spot in the 2009 Show Us Your BRA! Calendar.

The Calendar
The Show Us Your BRA! Calendar showcases some of the most notable and prize-winning bra creations submitted to the Show Us Your BRA! Contest. The 2008 calendar will be available at the auction, in stores in November 2007 and online at this site on October 15, 2007. They make great holiday gifts and bring a bit of humor and levity to our busy lives, while reminding us of efforts being made to combat breast cancer.
