Singing for your Supper

On thursday April 5,2007, the Pulse section of the New York Post had an interesting article about a new restaurant opening in NYC on Broadway between 48th and 49th Street. The name is "Spotlight Live" and their motto is "Eat, Drink and be Famous." Besides dinner you can get to be a star by performing live on their stage with back-up dancers, make-up and costumes. After getting some coaching backstage by professionals, you perform live on stage. They also have recording booths where you can cut your own albums. The idea for the restaurant came from Jennifer Worthington who also opening the Coyote Ugly Bar & Saloon in Las Vegas. It sounds like a great place to perform and be seen or maybe they need more professionals to work with the performers.

I wanted to tell all of you about "Craigslist" and their Foundation, "Craigslist Foundation." Last year I want to their Bootcamp in NYC where I met Craig Newmark and many other interesting people who have dedicated their lives to non-profit education. I met alot of people who were in the Arts fields doing alot of great work in the school systems. Check out their website for alot of information www.craigslistfoundation.org , they have bootcamps on both coasts. As I get more information, I'll pass it onto you.

Last week the "Berkshire International Film Festival" was held in Great Barrington MA at the Mahaiwe theatre. Arthur Penn(remember Bonnie & Clyde), a Stockbridge resident was honored. It sounded interesting but I didn't have time to go as I was too busy working on this website and planning the marketing of it to all of you who need it.

Anybody in the Berkshire are check out "Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation's Simple Gifts Fund". It's for residents of Berkshire(MA), Columbia, northeast Dutchess and northwestern Litchfield(NY State) The fund awards young people ages 8-21 for cultural and creative summer programs in theatre music and art. Check it out at www.berkshiretaconic.org

I'm looking forward to the summer and helping you get the money that you need to fund your dreams or at least give you information that you can check out.

One other thing before I sign off. I couldn't believe when I was on www.youtube.com that if you look up Ballet and "The Dying Swan" (choreography by Michael Fokine), you can see a video of Anna Pavlova from the turn of the last century dancing. there are also other greats that you can watch also. What a pleasure to watch!

Remember, LIST+DONATE=CREATIVITY!
