Shawn C. Chandler a.k.a. Ah-Choo and Roanald C. Speed-Bey Jr. appeal to kids and parents who like hip-hop
These two NYC schoolteachers recorded a CD to teach math to schoolchildren in 2001. In 2006 their revenue was $5000 but their goals for their company, Sing-2-School has lofty goals of $300,000 if they can sign a distribution deal. Their revenue for 2007 was $6000 but they need $250,000 to make their dreams come true.
They want a distribution deal with a store like Target, Kmart or even QVC. and want to market their brand with more albums, a children's book and animated videos. They are even thinking of marketing clothing and toys.
Here's the catch, they need both money and help and are trying to enter the mass market instead of staying small. I think that there is a market for them and although it might be nice to grow big, there might be quite a market within hip-hop areas in the US. They might want to attend kids fairs, or even make a show out of it using not only their CD but other performers, singers and dancers.
Can they go mass market? I guess we will find out in the future.
