Living Room Theater
N.Y. Apartments

Did you ever think that your own apartment, house or someone elses could be your new stage? I read an article by Jennifer Peltz about theater that is part party and part performance in someones living room. The beautiful part is that your stage can change from week to week. You might have a large performance space and then a small space to adapt your performance art. The hosts get free tickets and the production staff supplies chairs, refreshments and clean-up just as if you were in a real theatre. The company that was mentioned in the article wasThe Sublet Experiment, www.subletexperiment.com It is an interesting concept and sounds like a great idea for performances outside of the city too. I could just image a play being performed in someones huge family room. Up here in the Berkshires, we have plays performed in Mansions, so why not in someones home .

Tonight is "Dancing With The Stars", the TV show that I love to watch. Ballroom dancing has become so popular in the last year. In any community, any night of the week, you can dindBallroom dancing classes. If you are up in Stockbridge,MA this summer, you can check out a monthly Ballroom series at Seven Hills hosted by Stockbridge Summer Series,www.StockbridgeSummerMusic.org. I have friends who attend Ballroom Dance Classes and it sounds like alot of fun. If you are thinking of starting teaching classes, put your project on my site and I'm sure all the ballroom dance lovers will help you out.

I came across an article about Cajun Danceand a class being taught by Jon Greene. Can anyone email me, joanne@fundingthearts.org and tell me what Cajun Dance is all about.

College students will be graduating soon and I'm hoping that a few will find their way to my website. Students work so hard in the arts while they are college students and do alot of projects for the love not the money. Reality sets in after college, and students realize that they have to earn a living. I'll be putting alot of great ideas on my blog in the future to help college students after they graduate so that they can continue to follow dreams that were started in college.
